15-Year-Old Long Beach Girl Fatally Struck By Car In Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities said a 15-year-old pedestrian who was struck by a car on the PCH in Huntington Beach has died.

The unidentified female was a Long Beach resident, police said.

The teen was struck around 8:45 p.m. Saturday on northbound PCH near the traffic signal at the entrance of Bolsa Chica State Beach, between Goldenwest Street and Warner Avenue, Huntington Beach police Lt. Bo Svendsbo said.

When officers arrived, they found the girl lying in the roadway, unresponsive. She was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, Huntington Beach Police officer J. Marlatt said in a statement.

She was struck by a 2014 Chevy Camaro driven by a 62-year-old Huntington Beach man.

The driver remained on scene and answered officers' questions before being released, Marlatt said.

The incident remains under investigation.
