14-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck By School District Vehicle In Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 14-year-old girl was killed Monday while riding her bicycle in Santa Ana.

Shortly before 8 a.m., officers were sent to the 2100 block of West Edinger near center, across from the Carr Intermediate School.

Upon their arrival, police pronounced the female victim dead at the scene. Her mother was notified, and she responded to the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim rode her bicycle in the crosswalk when the driver of a Santa Ana Unified School District truck hit her.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the collision.

A SigAlert was issued in the area.
