14-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Attempted Rape In Reseda

RESEDA (CBSLA.com) — A 14-year-old boy was being detained Wednesday for the attempted rape of a woman.

The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. Sunday when the victim was riding her bike along the LA River, west of Corbin Avenue, in Reseda, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The woman was knocked off her bike by the unidentified teen, who them attempted to sexually assault her.

"As the attacker began to hit the victim, she fought back and screamed for help," police said.

The boy fled the scene and the woman called authorities.

Officers who responded to the area "spotted a 14-year-old juvenile  male who matched the description provided by the victim."

The teen was arrested for attempted rape and booked at Sylmar Juvenile Hall.

The woman was take to a local hospital for treated and later released.
