LAKE PIRU (CBSLA.com)   —   Officials said 15 people had to be rescued from Lake Piru Sunday after the boat they were in overturned.

The rescued included 5 adults, 7 children and 2 infants, authorities said. The identity of the 15th victim was unclear.

Chris Christi in Sky2 said the boat overturned in the north end of the lake just before 5 p.m.

He said people in the boat had "scary moments."

Ventura Fire personnel rescued all the victims.

Officials said most of the children were wearing life vests.

Lake Piru is about 35 miles north of Los Angeles in the Los Padres National Forest.

Late Sunday, officials said five of the 15 people were transported to various hospitals -- one to Henry Mayo and the rest to Santa Paula Hospital and Ventura County Medical Center.
