139-Acre Brush Fire In Temecula Now 30 Percent Contained

TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire burning near the border of Riverside and San Diego counties has grown to 139 acres on Sunday.

Fire officials in Riverside County said the fire, which erupted at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, erupted off the 15 Freeway in an unincorporated area of Temecula.

As of Sunday, the fire was 30 percent contained, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

So far, one firefighter has been taken to the hospital to be checked out but was expected to be OK.

Firefighters advised that one lane on the southbound 15 Freeway was expected to remain closed possibly through Monday.
