11-Foot Dead Alligator Found In Florida Storm Drain

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An 11-foot alligator was found in a storm drain in Fort Meyers, Florida after many residents were complaining about a foul odor in the area.

The alligator died while it was stuck in the drain, and the blockage the gator caused was the reason for the odor people were complaining about.

Public Works employee Roger Desjarlais posted a photo of the animal as workers were pulling it out of the drain. Eleven feet is an average size for a typical American alligator.
