$10K Reward Offered To Locate Suspect In Long Beach Man's Shooting Death

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives sought the public's help on Wednesday to identify a person of interest in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old man in Long Beach.

Around 11:30 p.m. on June 28, officers were sent to an apartment complex located in the 700 block of Linden Avenue for report of a shooting victim, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an adult man who had been struck in the upper body by gunfire on an apartment staircase.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The Coroner's office has identified the victim as Iran Maese, of Long Beach.

During a preliminary investigation, detectives obtained surveillance video that captured a man walking on Frontenac Court, near 7th Street, around the time of the murder.

This man is believed to be a person of interest in the case.

Detectives said the suspect was last seen wearing a dark colored, hooded sweatshirt with long dark colored shorts.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear.

The L.A. County Board of Supervisors has issued a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of Maese.
