Man In Rolls-Royce Shot In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man in his 30s was taken to a hospital after being shot in Hollywood.

The shooting unfolded about 8:45 p.m. Friday in an alleyway behind Gardner Street and Sunset Boulevard.

CBS2's Jasmine Viel reports that the man was shot in his upper body. He was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Viel also reported that the man was in the driver's seat in a Rolls-Royce when he was shot.

No bullet holes were visible in the car leading police to believe the suspect shot from above, according to Viel.

The suspect was described by authorities as an African-American man wearing a blue cap. Police said he fled on a bike.

Those attending a comic show nearby said they heard the gunshots. They also claimed to know the victim, who they said works nearby.

"All of a sudden we heard gunshots or I don't know if it was gunshots or not. We just heard, 'Pop. Pop.' And then until we heard sirens we didn't think nothing of it," Marco Munoz, a witness, said.
