Suspect Arrested In Connection With Fatal Buena Park Hit-And-Run

BUENA PARK (CBSLA.com) — The Buena Park Police Department on Saturday arrested a man in connection with a late-night hit-and-run at a Holiday Inn parking lot in Buena Park.

The suspect, Nelson Ward Jr., 60, was arrested on suspicion of homicide. He's suspected of fatally striking a female pedestrian and injuring a male pedestrian with a minivan.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday to 7000 Beach Blvd., according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

The woman, Jessica Lynn Brown, 32, was trapped underneath the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The man, Robert Shore, 51, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
