Apparent Bike Gang Feud On 15 Freeway Turns Deadly

CORONA (CBSLA.com) — One of three people who were injured in a shooting on the 15 Freeway on Saturday has died.

Authorities said gunfire erupted in Corona about 6:30 p.m. on the Cajalco Road off-ramp near El Cerrito Road.

The incident was the result of an apparent feud between two rival motorcycle gangs, Hells Angels and the Mongols, according to authorities.

Members of both were holding separate rallies in Riverside County when the shooting happened.

According to the CHP, the rival gangs chased each other on motorcycles, and one crashed. However, it's still not clear if the shooting and the collision are connected.

One victim was taken to a hospital where he died. Two others were injured.

The shooting also prompted the closure of the southbound thoroughfare for several hours. The El Cerrito on and off-ramps remain closed.
