Shooting victim found in Exposition Park dies in hospital

Shooting investigation underway in Exposition Park

A car-to-car shooting in Jefferson Park Sunday night led the victim's girlfriend to drive away and pull over in Exposition Park to call 911. The victim later died at a hospital.

The 30-year-old victim was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle at St. Andrews Place and Jefferson Boulevard in Jefferson Park at about 8:30 p.m. when he was shot by someone in another vehicle, according to the Los Angeles Police Dept. There were three males in the other vehicle, police said.

The victim's girlfriend drove away and pulled over in Exposition Park at the intersection of Exposition Boulevard and Vermont and called 911. Paramedics took the unidentified man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The University of Southern California Dept. of Public Safety stated there was no immediate threat to students, faculty, or staff on campus.

The motive behind the shooting was not determined. No suspect descriptions were immediately released.
