1 Killed, Man Hospitalized In San Bernardino Motel Shooting

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Saturday with providing information regarding the circumstances of a shooting that took place inside of a motel.

According to the San Bernardino Police Department, officers were sent around 6:21 p.m. to the Economy Inn Motel, located in the 600 block of West 6th Street, for report of a subject bleeding from his hand.

Before arriving on scene, the call was upgraded to a shooting that took place in one of the motel rooms, officers explained.

Police said they pronounced a 57-year-old victim dead inside one of the rooms when they arrived on scene. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.

A 33-year-old man was also located inside the motel suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Paramedics transported him to ARMC, where he remains sedated and unable to provide information about what transpired during the shooting.

Detectives explained they have very limited information at this time.
