1 Killed In Fiery Collision In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — One person died in a fiery crash Sunday after colliding into several trees.

According to the Pomona Police Department, officers were sent around 12:51 a.m. to the area of Mission Boulevard and Regene Street for report of a traffic collision.

Once on scene, officers said they found a vehicle that appeared to have driven into an area of trees and was engulfed in flames.

They attempted to put the fire out, but were unsuccessful, authorities said.

Fire officials said after they extinguished the fire, one victim, believed to be the driver, was found dead inside the car.

At this time, the identity and gender of the victim is unknown.

No other occupants were found near the scene.
