1 Killed In Chain-Reaction Crash On 134 Freeway

EAGLE ROCK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday asked for eyewitnesses to a deadly chain-reaction crash on the 134 Freeway in Eagle Rock.

The wrong-way collision happened just after midnight on the westbound lanes of the thoroughfare.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a wrong-way driver was going east in the westbound lanes, causing two vehicles to collide.

Subsequent to that accident, authorities say a man was killed after a third vehicle struck the wreckage where two men were standing.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately known.

City News Service reports that a 60-year-old Duarte man -- the alleged wrong-way driver -- was later arrested on suspicion of DUI. Calls made by CBS2 could not immediately confirm the arrest.

No further information was immediately available.

Anyone, who may have witnessed the accident, was asked to call the CHP's Altadena office at (626) 296-8100.
