1 Killed, 3 Injured In LA Shooting; Suspect Remains At Large

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives Thursday searched for a man suspected of fatally shooting one person and injuring three others.

Around 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were sent to the 8800 block of Vermont Avenue for report of several gunshot victims.

Upon their arrival, authorities located four victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Paramedics transported three others to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the shooting. Their conditions remain unknown at this time.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect got out of the passenger side of his vehicle and shot at the victims, who remained inside their car.

Detectives described the suspect as an African American man who drove a light colored four door sedan, which was last seen driving eastbound on 88th Street.

The investigation is ongoing.
