1 Killed, 2 Hurt In Moreno Valley Freeway Crash

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A pickup truck overturned on the shoulder of the 60 Freeway early Sunday morning, killing one person and injuring two others, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The single-vehicle crash occurred east of Theodore Road, at 12:10 a.m., according to the CHP. The freeway is reduced to four lanes in the vicinity as the freeway winds through mountains on its way to Beaumont.

According to CHP dispatch records reported by the Riverside Press-Enterprise, a witness said the truck was speeding in excess of 90 miles per hour when it went off the shoulder.

Riverside County Fire officials reported that one of the occupants of the truck suffered moderate injuries while another had minor injuries.
