1 Dead, 1 Wounded In San Fernando Officer-Involved Shooting

SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — A man was fatally wounded Monday in an officer-involved shooting in San Fernando.

Paramedics were sent to San Fernando Road and Hubbard Street shortly before noon, and the patient died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities withheld the man's name, pending notification of his relatives.

Sheriff's homicide investigators were sent to assist San Fernando police with the investigation.

Police would not immediately confirm to reporters that it was an officer-involved shooting, but CBS2's Kristine Lazar reported the officer was not injured.

One other person was apparently transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
