1 Dead After Car, Tow Truck Collide In Florence

FLORENCE (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed Friday morning in a collision involving a car and a tow truck.

The accident took place around 2:30 a.m. near Florence and Central avenues.

Investigators say the car collided with the truck, but could not confirm reports that street racing may have caused the crash.

One person died at the scene and another was taken to a local hospital. Their condition was not immediately known.

The intersection at Florence and Central was shut down while authorities investigate the crash.
