1 Dead, 4 Injured In Hawthorne Crash

HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed and four others injured Monday in a two-car crash in Hawthorne.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of El Segundo and Crenshaw boulevards, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Authorities say one of the vehicles was rear-ended while waiting for a green light.

Four passengers suffered minor to severe injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

One person died at the scene.

Police were investigating if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
