1 Dead, 4 Hurt In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Temecula

TEMECULA (AP) — A Southern California crash involving four cars and a big-rig has left one man dead and six other people injured.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported a 67-year-old San Diego man was killed when he crossed into oncoming traffic while trying to pass the big-rig Friday morning on Highway 79 near Temecula.

The California Highway Patrol says the man's car hit another vehicle, which hit the big-rig's trailer. Two other cars also were involved in the crash.

The San Diego man died at the scene and his 84-year-old female passenger was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The CHP says five people in the other cars were treated for injuries ranging from minor facial cuts to broken bones.

The big-rig driver wasn't hurt.
