Police Fatally Shoot Man Suspected Of Stabbing 3 In Hollywood

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — Los Angeles police have fatally shot a man they say stabbed at least three people before he was killed inside a Jack In The Box restaurant on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

LAPD spokesman Josh Rubenstein said the suspect died inside the restaurant Tuesday afternoon.

Three people were taken to the hospital and a woman declined treatment. There was no word on their conditions or the extent of their wounds.

The suspect was believed to be homeless; there are many homeless people in the area and they often are seen in and around the restaurant, which is near a busy corridor that includes CNN's LA headquarters, a popular movie theater, record store and several restaurants.

Portions of Sunset Boulevard were closed due to police activity.
