1 Dead, 3 Critically Hurt In Multi-Vehicle Wreck In Diamond Bar

DIAMOND BAR (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say one man was killed and three people were critically injured in a multi-car crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway.

California Highway Patrol officer Monica Posada said the crash was reported about 4:26 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the thoroughfare just east of Fairway Drive in Diamond Bar.

The deceased, described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.

City News Service reports that one of the critically injured individuals had to be airlifted to the hospital.

The cause of the crash was not known. Posada said that investigators at the scene were working to determine how the crash occurred.

Meanwhile, the crash shut the eastbound 60 Freeway for several hours. The freeway reopened about 7:53 a.m., Posada said.
