1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Shooting At Norwalk Residence

NORWALK (CBSLA.com) — A man has died and a second was wounded when shots were fired inside a home in Norwalk, authorities said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement that detectives responded to the 14500 block of Halcourt Avenue about 1:40 p.m. Thursday to investigate a shooting.

When they arrived, they found two people who had both been shot in the torso.

One of the men was taken to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The second man died at the scene.

The statement said: "Homicide detectives have learned that two males inside the residence were involved in a dispute. One of the males produced a firearm. Shots were fired."

A handgun was recovered at the scene, deputies said.
