1 Dead, 1 Wounded In San Bernardino Shooting

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man from San Bernardino was shot and killed late Friday night, and the suspected shooter remains at large.

Anthony Paul Johnson and an unidentified female victim were both struck by gunfire about 11:54 p.m. in the 300 block of E. Baseline Street, San Bernardino police said in a department statement.

The statement said that minutes after the shooting, Johnson and the wounded female were involved in a crash as they were being transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Johnson died about 90 minutes after the shooting, police said.

The woman was listed in stable condition at the hospital after sustaining non-life threatening wounds.

Police described the suspected shooter as a tall black male.

A motive for the shooting was not known.
