1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Maywood Shooting; Suspect At Large

MAYWOOD (CBSLA)  -- Authorities said one man was killed and one man was wounded Saturday evening in a shooting in Maywood.

The incident was reported a little before 6:10  p.m. in the 6100 block of Palm Avenue, Sheriff's officials said.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

CBS2's Cristy Fajardo reported from the scene where detectives released a photo of their suspect.

Officials said their suspect is 33-year-old Victor Monroe        Rivas. They said he lives in the same apartment complex at 6100 Palm and witnesses saw him fleeing the location in a 1991 or 1992 Silverado.

Detectives did not give a motive for the shooting but asked the public to be on the lookout for the vehicle and the suspect. They said if you see either, do not approach but call 911.

Officials said Rivas might still be armed.
