1 Dead, 1 Injured In Lake Elsinore Solo-Vehicle Rollover Crash

LAKE ELSINORE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say one person has died and a second person was injured following a solo-vehicle rollover crash in Lake Elsinore.

The accident happened at 1:51 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Alberhill Ranch Road and Lake Street, the Riverside County Fire Department said in an information sheet.

Lake Elsinore police Sgt. David Cardoza told City News Service that the motorist was traveling on Lake Street when he lost control and struck a roadway sign and traffic light before the vehicle came to a rest.

The driver was reportedly able to exit the vehicle, while the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The information sheet said one person was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, Cardoza said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash was asked to call Lake Elsinore police at (951) 776-1099.
