1 Dead, 1 Hurt After Gunfire Erupts During Carson Party

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a woman is dead and a man was wounded when gunfire rang out during a party in Carson.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives said in a written statement that the incident unfolded about 10:35 p.m. Saturday in the 19700 block of South Enslow Drive in Carson.

Authorities said detectives have learned that a fight that broke out between several party goers spilled onto the street.

Deputies said that, at that point, a Black male adult allegedly pulled out a handgun and started firing at the crowd.

Two people, described as a man and a woman, were struck by gunfire.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the man was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
