1 Dead, 1 Critical After Car Flips Over Overpass In OC Collision

ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — A car crash has left one person dead and another critically injured in Orange County.

Investigators say two vehicles were were making the transition from the southbound 57 Freeway to westbound 22 Freeway around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when they collided, sending one of the vehicles flying over the overpass and flipping upside down onto the roadway below.

Two male occupants were in that car and were trapped inside before officers were able to free them.

One of the victims was rushed to the hospital. The other died at the scene.

A woman was arrested at the scene for unknown charges.

Investigators say speed may have been a factor. They are also investigating the possibility the driver of the second vehicle was under the influence.
