1 Arrested After Panga Boat Carrying Marijuana Is Discovered In Malibu

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — At least one person was arrested Monday morning after a panga boat carrying marijuana was discovered in Malibu.

The approximately 30-foot-long vessel was located around 8 a.m. at Leo Carillo State Beach, officials said.

The panga was loaded with several bundles of marijuana, estimated at more than one ton, according to Lori Haley of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

One person was detained at the scene, and a search continued for additional possible suspects.
