Person Cut Out Of Car After Crash On I-80 Near Fairfield

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Traffic was at a crawl on westbound Interstate 80 through Fairfield on Wednesday morning due to a major crash.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened a little after 6 a.m. near the I-80/680 interchange. Several vehicles were involved in the crash, including a motorcycle.

Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but all lanes were blocked for a time. A SigAlert was issued and traffic to the Bay Area was delayed by more than an hour.

One person who was stuck in a vehicle had to be cut out by Fairfield Fire crews.

In total, firefighters say three people had to be transported to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Expect residual traffic through the morning.
