California Woman Arrested After Video Shows Infant Being Slapped

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Police in California say they've arrested a woman after videos were posted on Facebook showing a crying infant clutching a pocketknife and being slapped on the head.

San Diego Police say Thursday that the child's mother, Jowi Victoria Morales, was arrested on outstanding domestic violence allegations. It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney to comment.

The child's father, Luis Lara, tells KGTV-TV he was angry when he saw the video on Facebook. He said the video "hurts my soul."

Police say the child was taken into protective custody Thursday afternoon. They say domestic violence investigators are continuing the probe.
