Most of us feel lucky if we can time the traffic lights in Downtown Sacramento perfectly. But, according to some research done at the University of Michigan, it would be relatively easy for hackers to skew green lights in their favor.

The root of the problems is unencrypted wireless connections, according to the researchers. The traffic lights in more than 40 states, researchers found, are vulnerable to hacking.

Apparently, according to researchers, anyone with a computer can gain access to the traffic light network.
