Sugary Drink Warning Labels One Step Closer To Reality

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — California Senate Bill 347 passed the Senate floor Thursday.

If it makes it through the Assembly and the Governor signs it, SB-347 will require a health-warning label be placed on beverages with added sweeteners that are 75 calories or more per 12 ounces.

The bill's author, Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), says sugar-sweetened beverages are one of the main causes behind preventable health issues like obesity and type-2 diabetes.
