Big Rig Ends Up Wedged Under Highway 99 Overpass In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A collision with a speeding driver left a big rig wedged under a Highway 99 overpass in south Sacramento on Monday.

The crash happened a little before 9:30 a.m. at the east Florin Road exit.

The California Highway Patrol said a speeding driver in a Chrysler 300 merged onto southbound Highway 99 and crashed into the big rig after losing control of the car.

The car took out the right front suspension of the big rig, causing it to veer off the side of the road.

South Sacramento area CHP said the big rig took out about 100 feet of guardrail before being wedged under the Florin Road crossing.

Neither driver was injured in the collision.
