Sacramento Firefighters Replace Neighborhood's Stolen Christmas Decorations
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Firefighters dipped into their chow fund to help a neighborhood replace its stolen Christmas decorations.
The Sacramento Fire Department says last week, thieves took the decorations of five homes in the neighborhood near 65th Street and Fruitridge Road. When Sacramento Fire Station 10 crews found out that their neighbors had been hit, the firefighters decided to try and restore some holiday cheer.
Using money from their chow fund - a pull of cash from the firefighter's own pockets used to buy groceries - and donations from the nearby Target, crews went to work replacing the decorations on Sunday.
