South Sacramento Pedestrian Hit And Killed While Walking In Street

SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.

The crash happened in the area of Fruitridge Road and Wallace Avenue. around 5:35 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim was a man. His identity has not been released.

Police investigators said the pedestrian was walking westbound in the middle of the eastbound lanes of Fruitridge Road when he was struck by the vehicle. The vehicle left the scene before police arrived.

A witness tells CBS13 there was a shopping car surrounded by debris near the crash.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call their non-emergency line.
