Formerly Homeless Man Finds Musical Relaxation Through Anonymous Gift From Police

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) - A man who was homeless until recently received a special gift -- all thanks to a Fairfield police officer.

A few months ago, the man received help from Solano County Behavior Health services and the Fairfield Police Department's Homeless Intervention Team, was able to shelter, and eventually became stable, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

During one of his visits with Fairfield police, the man expressed his love of music, particularly the keyboard. He said he used to be an avid player and finds it relaxing.

Through the help of an anonymous donation, Officer Neal with the Fairfield Police Department was able to get a keyboard for the man. Police tweeted out a video of him now enjoying his gift.

They say it often takes time to build trust, respect, and a bond with each homeless person.
Police say they are working with the city of Fairfield's Homeless Services Division, Shelter Solano, Solano County Behavioral Health, and Project Roomkey to help find the man and others stable, permanent housing.
