Report: Man At Center Of Foresthill Standoff Sets Fire To Home

FORESTHILL (CBS13) - A standoff in Foresthill ended with a mobile home engulfed in flames today.

Placer County sheriff's deputies say they were serving a search warrant this morning at the home but the suspect wouldn't come out.

Around noon Tuesday, the sheriff's SWAT team was clearing the scene on at 6350 Baltimore Mine Road. A few hours earlier, the SWAT team attempted to serve a search warrant on the suspect. He allegedly refused to come out and reportedly started a fire in the home and began shooting at the deputies who say they didn't shoot back.

Firefighters put out the flames but weren't allowed to go inside the home because they believed there was ammunition still inside the home.

Law enforcement officials waited outside the home for the fire to die down. They believe he's still inside the home, but haven't confirmed whether or not he's still alive.
