Man Shot And Killed At South Sacramento Apartment Complex

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) — Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting in south Sacramento on Monday.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex near Dewey Boulevard and Iowa Avenue around 2:12 p.m., according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Someone called 911 and said a bullet came through the wall of their house, but that no one was hit. An additional caller from the same block requested medical help for a male victim who had been shot.

Detectives arrived at the scene of the shooting and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. They started life-saving measures and continued until fire department paramedics arrived. They pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. No suspect information has been released.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
