CBS DETROIT - Following two and a half sacks and a forced fumble against the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Ansah's success came as part of Detroit's overall defensive dominance against the Minnesota Vikings, whom the Lions defeated, 17-3. Detroit sacked Minnesota quarterback Teddy Bridgewater eight times.

Ansah is the second Lion to win Defensive Player of the Week this season; linebacker DeAndre Levy was selected for the honor after recording 10 tackles and an interception in the first week of the season. Levy also won Player of the Month for September.

The win lifted Detroit's record to 4-2 on the season, the first under new head coach Jim Caldwell.
