Tattoos Help ID Woman Still Unconscious Days After Being Found On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say tattoos helped identify a young woman who remains unconscious, days after being found unresponsive on the city's east side.

Police say they found the woman on Wednesday after responding to a report of a person down in the area of Moran and Minnesota streets, in a neighborhood just north of McNichols and Ryan roads.

Emergency crews transported the woman to the hospital, but she has yet to regain consciousness.

In an attempt to identify the woman, who is roughly 18- to 22-years-old, authorities released photos of her tattoos, requesting anyone who recognized the images to contact detectives. On Friday morning, police say the woman was identified by her parents. Her name was not released.

Detroit police are hoping someone will be able to identify a young woman by the tattoo in this photo. (police handout)

No further details on the woman's condition have been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
