Young Man Found Dead After Shots Ring Out In Detroit Neighborhood

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for a gunman responsible for a deadly early morning shooting on the city's west side.

Residents on Stout Street — near Plymouth and Evergreen, south of I-96 — called 911 after hearing as many as a dozen gunshots at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.

A man was found dead on the sidewalk in the 11700 block of Stout. He had been shot several times.

The victim's name has not been released, but police said he was described as a black man in his 20s.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Detroit police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP. Tipsters to Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if a tip leads to an arrest and conviction in his case.
