You May Never Text And Drive Again After Watching This Ad

More of us are affected by car accidents involving phone distractions every day. I lost a family member many years ago to this, but I'm guilty of ignoring that warning. I use my phone all the time while driving, but I'm committed to changing partially thanks to a new ad.

The cast from social-media-based reality show "Summer Break" appeared in a powerful anti-texting and driving PSA (public service announcement) posted to YouTube Tuesday.

Across from an empty chair, the teens are asked what reasons they have for using their phone while driving and the typical responses are heard including, friends, stop lights, music etc ...

Their mood takes a quick u-turn from energetic playfulness to stunned attention when a woman enters the room with obvious old injuries and tells her horrific story of losing her parents and being partially paralyzed in an accident caused by a driver distracted by a cell phone.

The woman, Jacy Good, is a public speaker and safe driving advocate and hearing what happened to her brings the cast to tears.

"I didn't have my daddy to walk me down the aisle when I got married," said Good.

They're asked if they can give the same reasons to Jacy about why they use their phone while driving. They're either not able to or admit apologetically and the "No Good Reason" lesson comes to light.

Start today. Every time you pick up that phone think about how you may affect others when you drive distracted.

There is no good reason to mess with your phone while you're driving.
