Woman's Body Found Inside Bedroom Closet On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say a woman's body was found inside of a bedroom closet in what's believed to be the deadly result of a domestic violence situation.

Officers were dispatched Friday morning to a home in the 14100 block of East State Fair, in a neighborhood just west of Gratiot Avenue, on a report of family trouble.

When officers arrived on the scene, they reportedly saw a large pool of blood through a window and forced their way inside the home. There, inside of a bedroom closet, they found the body of a 20-year-old woman. Police tell WWJ the woman had been stabbed.

A 24-year-old man was apprehended while trying to flee from the home. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the suspect is the woman's brother-in-law.

Other circumstances were not immediately clear. An investigation is ongoing.
