Woman Wanted In Detroit Family Dollar And CVS Armed Robberies

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for help to identify a woman wanted in the armed robberies of both a Family Dollar store and a CVS Pharmacy.

Police said the Family Dollar robbery, in the 13100 block of West McNichols in Detroit, took place at around 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11. In that instance, witnesses told police, the woman handed the cashier a note announcing the robbery and then placed her hand inside of her purse and told the cashier she had a fun.

The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two days later, police said — on Wednesday, Aug. 13 — the same suspect robbed a CVS Pharmacy store in the 18500 block of Dale. Again, she handed the cashier a note. That's when police said she placed her hand inside of her purse and ordered the cashier to empty the cash drawer or she would shoot him.

She then grabbed the cash from cash drawer and fled the location in a black SUV, police said.

The robber, whose image was capture on security footage, is described as a black female in her 40s; 5 feet, 4 inches and around 130 lbs, with a dark brown complexion and a small build. She was wearing dark clothing and carrying a black purse.

Anyone who has seen this suspect, knows of her whereabouts, or who has any information about these crimes is urged to call Detroit police at 313-596-1616 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.  Tipsters to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous.
