Woman Walks Away From Rollover Accident On Icy Road

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities say a woman involved in a rollover accident near I-96 is lucky she didn't end up with more serious injuries.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Friday on Greenfield Road at Glendale Street, just north of I-96 on Detroit's west side.

Spencer Cromer said his wife Taja was driving the couple's 2014 Dodge Charger when she apparently lost control of the vehicle.

"She slid on some, I guess, black ice and hit the snow bank and went airborne, rolled it completely over," Cromer told WWJ's Mike Campbell.

The vehicle's airbags deployed and Cromer's wife was wearing her seatbelt. She received only a minor injury to her arm and was able to exit the vehicle under her own power.

"They took her to the hospital but it looks like she's going to be OK. You know, when she told me it was an accident, I figured it was a little front end damage or something," Cromer said. "I never expected this right here."

No other injuries were reported.
