Woman Shot Multiple Times While Driving On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a gunman, and a motive, after a 46-year-old woman was shot multiple times while driving on the city's east side.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday at Stringham Court and McCoy Circle, near Warren Avenue and Conner street -- not far from the Chandler Park golf course.

Police say the woman was driving her vehicle when she was struck multiple times by gunfire. She was taken to a local hospital, although her current condition is unknown. Police say she's expected to survive.

At this point, investigators don't have any description of the gunman.
