Woman Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run accident on the city's east side.

The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on East Davison and Syracuse, in a neighborhood just west of Mound Road.

Police say a woman was fatally struck by a burgundy mini-van that was last seen headed eastbound on the Davison Freeway. Other circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately unclear.

A physical description of the suspect behind the wheel has not been released.

Police say the woman was between 35- and 40-years-old, but she has not yet been identified.
