Woman Hurt After Lightning Strike In Northeastern Michigan

PRESQUE ISLE (WWJ/AP) - A 21-year-old woman has been struck by lightning near a lake in northeastern Michigan.

The woman was hurt Friday afternoon at Grand Lake in Presque Isle, The Alpena News reported.

East Grand Lake Fire Chief Ron Fournier says conditions were stormy at the time of the lightning strike near the north end of the lake.

The woman was near a beach house when she was struck. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed and she was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Her condition was not immediately available.
