Woman Finds Body Of Slain Son Partially Buried Behind Vacant Detroit Home

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Police say a woman found the body of her slain 23-year-old son partially buried in the backyard of a vacant home on Detroit's east side.

The grim discovery was made around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 20000 block of Marx, in a neighborhood near I-75 and 8 Mile Road.

Keon DuBois was missing since Sunday. In an effort to find her son, DuBois' mother reportedly paid a "street source" for information and wound up finding his body partially buried under some debris.

Police say DuBois had multiple gunshot wounds. He was identified by his brother, based in part on his clothing.

"The mother is having a really tough time, obviously," Assistant Police Chief Steve Dolunt told WDIV-TV. "Not knowing where they're at is one thing, but actually finding them is actually very traumatic."

Dolunt told reporters that a squatter was apparently using the home, and DuBois was known to visit there.

No arrests have been made, but police say they have someone they want to talk to about the investigation.
